I am a mother, musician, birth doula, herbalist, and both a WA Licensed Mental Health Counselor as well as an MD Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. These various identities and professions have guided me on my route to becoming a mental health practitioner. I bring a strong, personal passion for postpartum work with mothers, couples, and families. This interest comes from my time serving expecting families as a doula, as well as my own transition into motherhood, involving moments of struggle alongside meaning.

I have been interested in depth psychology from a young age. During a move from the East to the West Coast, I met a mentor figure who was passionate about Jungian psychology. This encounter encouraged me to delve into Carl Jung’s approach to the psyche. From there, I began my own ten-year journey in Jungian Analysis with a beloved analyst, the late Stephanie Gierman. As I integrated the Jungian way, I gained an appreciation for like-minded psychotherapists such as Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Marion Woodman, Linda Leonard, and James Hollis. Outside of Jungian practitioners, I also enjoy Irvin Yalom’s perspectives on trauma and the role of community within healing practices, along with both David Kessler’s and Francis Weller’s insights into grief and bereavement.

Explore the Jungian concept of both-and: the balance and tension of opposites as observed in consciousness and unconsciousness.

I attended Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpinteria, CA for my Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology degree, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Clinical Counseling, and Depth Psychology. I completed a practicum as a therapy trainee at Helpline House, a social services nonprofit on Bainbridge Island, WA. I received my Bachelor of Arts with a focus in Hispanic Studies at Oberlin College in Oberlin, OH.

I wrote my Master’s thesis on the inner descent process that occurs internally as we grieve inner states of transition, leaving behind old identities and ways of being. You can view a preview of this text here. I place an emphasis on the role that community and mythological tales play in healing the liminal space between old and new. I am interested in being present with clients as they confront their unconscious, shadow aspects. I see this work as a means to promote a balance between inner and outer life.
